Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?
Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:
Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd. Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel. Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd. Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.
We are also accepting staff applications for Global Moderators, Graphics Designers and Skin Designer.
What's going on... ?
There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?
The board is set, the pieces are in play. Whose side will you join?

In this small Florida town things are changing. 2004 US Olympic Champion Alex Tapia has moved to town and has just opened a huge state of the art riding facility. This small town better be prepared for a wake up call. With the grand opening of the riding center it brought a lot of new people to the quiet town of Sea Breese. The locals are handling the changes very well and the riders coming here love the small town setting. Then rumors spread that top junior rider Isabella California has arrived to train for the 2008 Olympics next year. Will all of the celebrities in this town bring unwanted paparazzi? Or is the opening of Ocean Side Equestrian Center just what this little town has always needed?

"I see." Yeah, he saw jealousy. "Well, are we gonna ride, Quinn?" Zeke looked to Dakota, and added, "You're welcome to ride with us if you want." The boy glanced between the girls and smirked. "I'm going to go get Loren."
He began slowly strolling away, towards where alison had parked the two horse trailor and truck. Already he could hear the impatient stomps of his stallion; Loren.

The sound of gravel crunching echoed in her ears. Summer made her way across the stable yard. She had arrived less then a hour ago and had not seen anyone. Its like a ghost town. A light blanket of fog covered the pastures and seemed to engulf all the horses in the pasture. Reaching the barn she took one final glance around the yard. No one. Disappearing into the barn Summer peered into every stall. Each equine seemed to be an eventer or hunter. Maybe it was a mistake bringing Rita here. Her parents had warned her that all the horses here would be well trained show horses. She really did not care, Summer was always a rebel, this may not be that rabelais but bringing a saddle seat horse here seemed like it was a little. Yeah Rita was being trained hunt seat right now but that was not the point.
continued her walk down the aisle she noticed a few western horses but nothing like Rita. A load whinnie shattered the silence. A smile tugged at her lips as she looked up and saw Rita's elegant head hanging over her door. Ears perked toward Summer, her soft chocolate brown eyes holding the same sadness as Summers. "I guess we both don't fit in here." She whispered as she stroked the mares head. Slipping into the mares stall Summer wrapped her arms around Rita's neck and took in the sweet smell of horse. Her mind reeling with the events leading up to her being here. Pulling back Summer gave Rita one final pat and slipped out of the stall. "I'll be back in a bit." She said over her shoulder as she made her way out of the barn.
Walking into the lounge, she noticed that again no one was around. What is with this place? Grabbing Horse Illustrated from the coffee table, she leaned back on the couch and flipped threw the pages. Luckily for her there was a section on green horses. She was only half reading the article. She was really worried about how Rita would look hunt seat now that she had on shoes with weight in them. Her parents had them put on before she left. They were always complaining that Rita could lift her feet up higher. Sinking deeper into the couch Summer played with the thought of riding later. Shacking away all her thoughts she tried to concentrate on the article.

When Quinn said what she'd said, Zeke's eyes had widened slightly. He mentally cursed. He did NOT want to have another person breathing down his neck all the time. He sincerely hoped that Quinn's mother would leave him alone, for the most part. She'd seemed nice enough.
"Nice to meet you too..." He said to Dakota, then looked between the two girls. Quinn struck him as a bit odd, but nice enough... and Dakota struck him as nice and friendly.
